The House of Wander

A house for a dutch artist is imagined as an endless journey.

Inspired by his ventures in the forests and exploring the
nature, the house is allowing the visitor to wander and
be surprised by the uncovered views and encounters .

From the outside, a monolithic structure, with only a
small ‘crack ’ inviting the person to enter and explore
its maze-like plan.

Walking through, new views open in each space.
Soaring up towards the sky and the Sun on one side,
the inhabitant is welcomed to roam into the day and
spend active time in that space.

Towards the evening, the inhabitant can recluse into
the calm wing of the house, the building descending,
until, one is met with the grass at eye level and can reconnect
withthe earth and say goodbye to the day.
The house hosts a gallery and a studio and can become
a museum after the artist's death.

Inspispired by his love of nature, and his
fascination of capturing it into a rigid structure, the
house is created from rammed earth and woodden
structural elements.
